What is the Catalan arraigo course?

Who it’s for

A course designed for foreign nationals living in Catalonia who want to learn Catalan to feel part of their surroundings: the neighbourhood, work, everyday life and the culture of the country that is already their home. Learning the language is one of the most real ways to put down roots here.

When you finish, you receive a certificate issued by BCNLIP, a centre accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, which is also valid to prove your knowledge of Catalan in the social arraigo report before the immigration authorities.

When you finish, you receive a certificate of achievement issued by BCNLIP, a centre accredited by the Instituto Cervantes. Catalan is the language shared by those who live here: speaking it means opening the door to the culture, the people and the life of Catalonia. That’s why this course has a cultural focus: you learn the language and, with it, the customs, the traditions and the way of life of the country.
