What guides us

Our mission
We teach Spanish and Catalan through linguistic and cultural immersion programmes. We support those who want to integrate in Barcelona and Catalonia, as well as those who come for a shorter stay. The goal is always the same: that the language is learned by living it, in real contact with the city and its people. We are part of the MONLIP educational network, committed to accessible, intercultural and inclusive education.
Our vision
We want BCNLIP to be a reference space in Barcelona where learning a language is also the beginning of something bigger — a new chapter, a personal project, a different way of understanding the world. We are committed to more conscious and connected communities, where linguistic and cultural immersion is a driver of real transformation.

Two minutes that explain everything

Philosophy

What drives us

Language is the home of everyone. In it we meet, we get to know each other, we share who we are. In it we have the opportunity to grow and build something new.

Everything you need to master Spanish, in a full immersion programme.

Diversity

Every person who arrives brings a perspective of the world that enriches the group. It is not a declared value — it is what happens every day in the classroom.

Interculturality

Barcelona becomes a meeting space where the student interacts with the city, its inhabitants and people from different cultures, developing an open, critical and respectful perspective towards diversity.

Cultural mediation

The student learns to interpret, explain and share the cultural reality of Barcelona, acting as a bridge between their own culture, the local culture and other ways of understanding the world.

Integration

Not observing Barcelona from the outside, but becoming part of it — its history, its people, its everyday life during the stay.

Inclusion

Every person feels free, respected and supported. Accessible facilities. Prior contact with each student before they start.

Student profile

Who studies at BCNLIP?

Adults from all over the world, with very different goals and backgrounds. Some come to settle in Barcelona — to study, work or start a new chapter — and others come for shorter stays to advance in the language. What they share is curiosity, a desire to learn and the wish to live the language, not just study it.

BCNLIP also works with the Fundación BCNLIP to facilitate access for those coming from more economically vulnerable backgrounds.

The team

Professionalism, warmth and diversity

BCNLIP is a team made up of people from Barcelona, from Catalonia and from many other places around the world. That mix of origins, languages and experiences creates a familiar, open and professional atmosphere. What unites us is a shared way of understanding teaching: supporting each student with warmth, rigour and humanity. Like the city that hosts us, BCNLIP is a space of encounter, diversity and trust.

Of all the tasks involved in running a school, the one that matters most to me is connecting with the people who study here. I like to get to know them, understand what they need and support them however I can.

Why BCNLIP?

Something that can’t be
fully explained.

We could tell you many things — the method, the location, the years of experience. But there is something that can't be fully explained before you experience it. From the very first moment you walk in, something is different. It has to do with how they welcome you, with what happens inside and outside the classroom, with the fact that here people truly matter.

Come visit us. Or read what those who have studied here have to say.

BCNLIP is a school I truly recommend. It has very good teachers, a lovely atmosphere and excellent value for money. On top of that, the school offers much more than classes: it helps with accommodation, organises activities and creates a
I started classes with BCNLIP in October and have loved it! I'm here for 12 months and they've been helpful with all of my questions. I've made friends through my classes and I think it's really cool that they have events each week.
Studying at BCNLIP Barcelona was one of the best parts of my time in Barcelona. The teachers made learning Spanish enjoyable and practical, and the staff were always helpful. I especially liked the small classes and multicultural
